PgDip Design for Visual Communication
The Postgraduate Diploma Design for Visual Communication course comprises an internationally and academically diverse cohort. The first phase of the course involves a period of intensive acquisition of the essential design principles, theories and research methodologies necessary to become responsible and purposeful designers. This is augmented by a series of self-initiated projects that enable students to bring their personal vision to ‘real world’ applications. The second phase of the course yields a substantial major project that enables the application of these intellectual and practical skills.
Students on the course come from a broad academic, social and cultural demographic – they are a new breed of hybrid thinkers and practitioners. Each has found their way to visual communication as an essential subject discipline for the next stage of their personal or professional development. Students reflect on their learning and speculate on their future prospects either within the design profession or through further study at Masters level and beyond.
